How do you step from the top of a 100-foot pole?

Firstly, my question is how did you manage to get up there? What was the reason for you climbing that pole? Why did nobody try to stop you?  In my life's journey thus far, I have met extraordinary individuals who have had an influence on the person I am today, my friends.  And often time enough, they stop me from doing really stupid things. Surely they would stop me from even attempting to climb a 100-foot pole, much rather than to advise how to step down from there. One needs to trust your friends enough to confide in them rather than to climb poles.

Are you watching the seasons go by,
As we get older and another birthday arrives,
We acknowledge what we have learned in recent
Years, to embrace, discover and fulfil the next 12
Months. We belong to the circle of life, the process
That provides us with wisdom and neglects and abandon
Our youth. 365 days of continuous maturing until your
Next birthday and in a blink of an eye, time has gone by
And you wonder where it has gone... the evidence is found
On your skin that Summer, Winter, Autumn and Spring
Has come and gone. Age is simply a result of time, and
Birthdays tells us what time we are. When our time runs
Out, our clocks stop and we will no longer be. Yet the
Seasons will continue...

Being a virgo woman...

Often enough I don't like to admit it, my star sign  portrays similar characteristics of that of my personality and other times I can't help but love being a virgo.

The Virgo woman is driven by success, more often defined by the financial standing she inadvertently gets. She achieves this through sheer wit and intellect as well as her natural inquisitiveness for the truth. Being gifted with critical thinking abilities and the desirable trait of creative and imaginative thinking fueled by a sharp memory, the Virgo woman can find success in law enforcement, research, investigations, sciences, linguistics, accounting or even book-keeping.

The Virgo woman plays the role of the ever amiable diplomat settling disputes with uncanny proficiency and without the need for coercion or the use of means other than peaceful ones. This makes her a very significant figure in negotiation tables as well as a major player as a trusted and equally gifted business partner. Her ability to balance and harmonize personal issues with professional concerns makes her an ideal employee or even an excellent business partner.

We are what we do...

(tellemgrodypr.com)
I was at a cross roads in my life and didn't know what to do with it and then... Public Relations choose me. After three years and a national diploma later, I have many regrets, but choosing Public Relations as a career  path isn't one of them. The broad field of Public Relations has provoked much excitement in my young adult life. Exciting because I have all these avenues to explore and don't know where to start with to find my niche. Public Relations hasn't become my life, and I don't intend on making it my life. But has become a significant part of my life already.

Have you ever considered donating an organ?...

babyfoxy.deviantart.com

I wasn't always sure if I would like to donate an organ. But after researching organ donation for a research assignment, I gained insight as to the great need there is for organs and skin tissue in South Africa and the role that young adults play. I feel that if young adults were better informed about organ donation, they would perhaps provide consent to donate an organ. My heart goes out to the many South Africans who are diagnosed with organ failure. I'm proud to say that I'm willing to donate an organ!

We are afraid of the wrong things...

shexists.com
To often in our lives we are afraid to take risks, because we are forever weighing up the options of negative outcomes. And being afraid of taking risks prohibits us from truly living a fulfilled life. Failure is often the negative outcome which we are afraid of. Life is unpredictable and is all about taking risks...think about it, if you haven't already. To fail indicates that you have tried something. To not attempt is worse than failure, because you can learn from the mistakes and try again with new perspective.

fish falling from the sky...

(passportmagazine.com0
I have read a few articles about fish falling from the sky...a strange phenomena if you weren't exposed to what knowledge experts has to share about it. Meterologists say the incident is probably caused by a tornado. It is common for tornados to suck up water and fish from rivers and drop them hundreds of miles away. I suppose it's also a result of global warming. We are very fortunate to live in a country with a favourable climate, in which natural disasters seldom occur. But I would be horrified if I should see a live fish fall from the sky!

For the love of it...

(annajohnston.com.au)
I consider cooking so much as a hobby, I even listed it on my CV. I cook passionately, because I enjoy preparing a dish / meal and look forward to the enjoyment of it. Some people can't cook to save their lives, others dread the idea of it and there's people like me who find a sense of relaxation in it. Preparing grills, stews, curries, pastas (and sometimes baking of different kinds of breads) allows me to unwind after a stressful day. (Hopefully my passion for cooking won't one day reflect on my hips). I'm definitely considering to study chef and food preparation and one day somehow incorporate it with my Public Relations qualification.

What colour is the wind?

God's love for us is the colour of the wind. There is no a distinct colour of the wind and so there is no measure of God's love for us. God is the beginning and end of all things, his love for us is everlasting. God makes the sun rise in the morning and sets it at night. God makes it rain, to water the crops which allows us to eat. God gives life, God takes life. God's love for us gives colour to the wind. God loves you more than you know or can even imagine.

John 3 verse 16 says, for God loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Your money's worth

"Dear customers we apologise for the inconvenience" Metrorail's golden words. For several weeks  frustrated capetonians have been hearing the phrase over and over and over again. Trains cancelled, vandalized,  overloaded to maximum capacity and congested traffic on the roads because of it,  has become the norm, or so it seems. Economically is seems smarter to use the train as method of transport, because it's cheaper, but with these horrible conditions I'd rather walked to where I need to be and still get there faster. Last week I stumbled across an article, almost as if it was heave - sent. The article announced that the City of Cape Town is to formally take over train services in the Metro. (Thank Heavens, I thought) The City plans to create an integrated public transport system comprising rail, the city's bus  (My Citi), minibus taxis and non - motorized transport.  Think Capetonians have lots to be smiling about now.

If I were the boss....

(spreadsheet.com)
Initially I would like to be my own boss someday. I would prefer to manage people rather than just receive instructions all day long. Naive as it may seem, but I would like to form personalized relationships with my subordinates. I wouldn't want to be perceived as being the "wicked witch", constantly instructing them  as if they weren't adults and couldn't think for themselves. Relationships with my subordinates should be viewed as friends and not pals. I will still except their best performance at all times, but wouldn't constantly want to assert my authority over them. They should be sure not over step boundaries to insure that a good relationship is maintained. I strongly believe that you shouldn't always have to assert one's authority to manage the effectiveness of a team or to obtain respect. Because over assertiveness of authority can also be viewed as a weakness of a leader by the subordinates. *My Thoughts*
